I am a PR major at Kent State University with a double minor in anthropology and business. Yes, this is an interesting combination.

This blog began as a class project in the Spring of 2007 (my junior year) for an online PR course I enrolled in for my major. I’d like to say that if it were not for this class requirement I otherwise would blog on a different topic, however, that’s probably not true.

The reasons I picked PR as my major, are the same reasons I find myself thinking of PR outside of class, on the weekends and in my dreams, the precise reason I would probably blog about it anyways. PR is a practical major –– one that applies to multiple aspects of the professional world. It is a result of this practicality and broad application that PR is the straight line about which a PR students world rotates. PR.axis is full of my opinions related to PR situations. Keep in mind, however, that by my definition of PR, almost anything can be a PR situation. If people are involved, communication is involved and PR is likely lurking in the background.

I am still a student, though. I am still learning the art of communication, and unfortunately, learning by experience is often an uphill battle. I might not always be right and I might pose more questions than answers, but I welcome your comments as you offer them. This is a blog where I’m simply starting the conversation. Feedback is vital for a conversation to happen, so go ahead… talk.
